Pride On Tyne
Description
About Pride on the Tyne.

Newcastle has hosted a gay celebration every year from 1990 up until 2004. This event was run by volunteers and committee members who developed the event to eventually attract in excess of 6000 visitors. The culture of Pride was to host a non-commercial event; this meant that the visibility was low, even though the following was high. This eventually led to the disbandment of the organisation, leaving a large gap in the market for a new event, not bound with red tape, created by an organisation who have the vision, skills and expertise to develop and produce outstanding events.
